Vietnam Documents:
American and Vietnamese Views of the War

Edited by George Katsiaficas

Overview:
Overview: Ideal for classroom use, this book contains fifty-two readings - mostly primary sources - that present a complete picture of the conflict in Vietnam from 1954 to 1975. All sides are represented: the Vietnamese Communists, both northern and southern; the pro-U.S. South Vietnamese; the U.S. government; and various antiwar Americans as well. Substantial chapter introductions by the editor place each reading in context.

Reviews: "An intelligent selection of documents. I especially like the mix of Vietnamese and American sources and the well-chosen commentaries from key historical figures. The collection should be especially useful for classes on the Vietnam era. The documents will prompt discussions and debates and thereby make this history come alive for a new generation of students."-Paul Joseph, Tufts University
